Provide More Affordable Houses; Housing Corp. Tasked

Ogun State Housing Corporation has been charged to embark on the provision of more affordable houses for the citizens, to further reduce housing deficit in the State.

The State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun gave the charge during an inspection visit to the on-going 94 one-bedroom semi-detached and 12-unit of 4-bedroom duplexes projects, at Oke-Ata and Ibara Housing Estates, Abeokuta.

He said more of such projects should be embarked upon before the end of his administration, to assist average citizens and other low income earners.

‘’ Our people have not seen anything yet, we are going to build more of these houses, with  infrastructures like water supply,  electricity, drainages and roads, properly fitted, to ensure people get to their respective places of work on time.

Responding,the General Manager and Special Adviser to the Governor on Housing Development, Arc. Olajumoke Akinwunmi noted that the construction works of the 12-unit duplexes at Ibara Estate took-off in July 2017 while the first phase of the 94 one-bedroom semi-detached at Oke-Ata Housing Estate, Abeokuta took-off in December 2017.

She explained that four out of the building were constructed with ted bricks as models, showing the one-bedroom, two-bedroom and completed three-bedroom semi-detached, and the remaining 90 units of one-bedroom were being constructed with sandcrete.
