Ogun Seeks PPP To Develop Other Sports

The Ogun State Government has appealed to philanthropists, corporate bodies and sports enthusiasts to support the development of other sporting activities in the State, rather than concentrating all efforts on football.
The State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, made the appeal at the Southwest qualifying round boxing competition, jointly organised by the State government and I-Yes Sport Promoter,  at the Alake Sports Centre, Ijeja, Abeokuta,in honour of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, who clocked 80th .


The Governor, who was represented by the State Commissioner for Youths and Sport, Hon. Afolabi Afuape, urged the general public to give the same supports given to football to other sporting events, in order to develop more talents and engage the youths in profitable ventures.
Governor Amosun commended the organizers of the event for their foresight, pledging that his administration would continue to provide enabling environment for a stronger Public Private Partnership.
Speaking earlier, the Oyo State Commissioner for Youths and Sport, Hon. Abayomi Oke, commended Ogun State government for providing enabling environment for sport development in the Southwest.
