As part of efforts to improve the socio-economic development of the State and enhance its ease of doing business, the Ogun State government has expressed its determination to keep initiating relevant programmes and policies, that would fast track its’ mission to rebuild agenda.
The State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Otunba Bimbo Ashiru, stated this at a meeting in Abeokuta, to review the implementation on the ease of doing business reforms, with the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN Commission), Department for Foreign International Development (DFID) and Partnership to Engage Reform and Learn (PERL).
He said the State government has been taking proactive measures to ensure socio-economic growth and make the State more business friendly, by providing necessary infrastructures and reducing bureaucratic bottlenecks that may hinder the setting up of business.
“The State is partnering with major companies to empower some youths and women group to enhance the growth of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME),’’ he said.
Earlier, the Regional Investment Analyst, DAWN Commission, Mr. Olugbenga Wahab, said the meeting was aimed at creating synergy and improving trade in the south western States of the country.
“We are looking at how we can integrate seamlessly, in terms of infrastructural development across the western region, in spite of the differences in the level of development,’’ he said.
