Ogun Remains Committed To Investing In Education – Mujota

The Ogun State Government says its investment in education remain unwavering, notwithstanding the current economic situation in the country.

Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mrs. Modupe Mujota, stated this at the commissioning of a block of classrooms, donated by the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, at St. John’s Anglican Primary School, Agbena, Ojere, Oba Local Council Development Area.

Mujota who was represented by the Director of Primary and Higher Education, Mr. Olu Aikulola, said the agenda of the present administration was to make free and qualitative education accessible to all children of school age, irrespective of their parents’ social or economic status.

The Commissioner said the construction of Model Schools, provision of instructional materials, renovation of classrooms and training and retraining of teachers among others, were part of efforts to take the education sector to a higher pedestal.

‘’A lot of investments have gone into the education sector, in enhancing capacity building for teachers, provision of educational resources and infrastructure. Our Model schools are testimonies to the commitment of this administration, at making education accessible to all’’, Mujota said.

In his address, Pastor Adeboye, who was represented by Pastor Aduradola A.M. said the gesture was part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of the church, promising that the church would see to the provision of more amenities to the school.

In his remarks, the Head Teacher of the school, Mrs. Janet Osunrinde, thanked both the State government and the church for providing the school with the facility, pledging to judiciously use it for the benefit of the pupils.
