Ogun State government has re-affirmed its commitment towards ensuring that development cuts across various communities in the State.
Commissioner for Community Development and Cooperatives, Hon. Gbenga Adenmosun, made this known while commissioning self-help projects and presenting certificate of registration to Makogi Area Community Development Committee (ACDC) at Ofada/ Mokoloki Local Council Development Area.
Adenmosun applauded the communities for providing the people with basic amenities like electricity, road, bridges, amongst others, adding that, the grant-in-aid given to communities who embarked on self-help projects was to encourage them to do more, as government could not do it alone.
‘’I implore all traditional rulers and community chiefs to encourage their people, by giving necessary support to government in order to enjoy more dividends of democracy,’’ he said.
In his welcome address, the Chairman, Makogi ACDC, Rotimi Afolabi, appreciated the leadership style of Senator Ibikunle Amosun in his mission to rebuild Ogun State, especially for awarding contract for the construction of road from Magboro to Makogi, saying, it would enhance the socio-economic development of the area.
Meanwhile, Anuoluwapo Olose Community Development Association, Asero Estate, Abeokuta, had received a grant-in-aid cheque from Ogun State government to support their self-help projects.
Presenting the Cheque, Commissioner for Community Development and Cooperatives, Hon. Gbenga Adenmosun, enjoined residents of the community to engage more in developmental projects, and to always keep their environment clean for the general well-being of the people.
