OGSG To Pursue Reforms For Accelerated Development

Ogun Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Wale Osinowo has expressed optimism that the 2018 Budget would be successfully implemented as more strategies and reforms would be evolved towards achieving accelerated development across the State.

Osinowo said this while taking his turn to defend the Ministry’s budget estimate before members of the State House of Assembly on Finance and Appropriation at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

According to him, the 2018 budget had been designed to reflect fiscal measures which would be centred on developmental growth capable of attracting more foreign investors and partners.

The Commissioner explained that the State would adopt more of cashless revenue collection scheme in the next fiscal year for efficient and transparent in revenue generation, adding that the Haulage Scheme recently launched by the State Government was capable of generating additional N6bn annually.

While defending the Ministry’s budget estimate, Osinowo presented a budget size of N5.430bn, explaining that N200m was earmarked for capital projects, while the sum of N5.23bn was set aside for recurrent expenditure with revenue target put at N30m
