OGSG Pledges Collaboration With World Bank On Community Development

Ogun State Government has expressed commitment towards ensuring effective collaboration with World Bank and other developmental partners, to further facilitate development of the State.

Governor Ibikunle Amosun stated this while declaring open a one day sensitisation / advocate workshop for stakeholders of community and social development projects, organised by the ministry of community development and cooperative, held at Oba’s complex in Abeokuta.

Governor Amosun who was represented by his Deputy, Chief (Mrs.) Yetunde Onanuga said the World Bank, no doubt has since inception of this administration complemented its efforts through the introduction of community and social development projects, which he said had greatly increased people’s access at grassroots to basic infrastructural amenities.


According to him, the present administration in the State had fulfilled all conditions required for World bank counterpart funds and utilised it for the provision of office accommodation, enactment of required law, establishment of the State community and social development agency, among others at community levels .

“I acknowledge the fact that Community Development Associations have contributed immensely to the socio- economic development of our dear State, therefore they are veritable tool for Nation building”, he said.

While expressing optimism that the community and social development programmes would further consolidate Government’s efforts towards realisation of its five cardinal programmes’ objectives, Governor Amosun assured that the idea would help in invigorate the existing CDAs in the State.

He therefore urged participants at the workshop to make good use of the programme to effect desired development to their communities.
