The Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Abayomi Sobande has applauded the initiative of the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN), Ogun State Chapter for providing affordable houses for its members in the State.
Sobande who visited the project site in Abeokuta, said shelter was one of the basic needs of man, expressed satisfaction at the level of work done so far.
He commended the leadership of the union for taking the welfare of its members as priority, calling on other trade unions to emulate such laudable project as such would enhance and promote the livelihood of the state workforce,.
“This is quite impressive to me, because I can see workers here doing a thing for themselves instead of the usual aluta and strike actions, you can see initiatives and discretions at work here. This is a laudable project worthy of emulation,” he said.
Fielding questions at the construction site, the State Chairman, ASCSN, Comrade Olubunmi Fajobi, affirmed that the success of the project could be attributed to purposeful leadership and keying into the project aspect of trade unionism for the betterment of the members.
