Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has felicitated with Oba Oluremi Owolabi Obayomi on his first anniversary as the Elese of Ilese-Ijebu, describing the traditional ruler as a blessing to the community and Ogun State at large.
Governor Amosun, who was represented by his Deputy, Chief (Mrs.) Yetunde Onanuga and other top government functionaries at the thanksgiving service, held at St. Pauls Anglican Church, Ilese Ijebu, maintained that Oba Obayomi’s emergence has been iconic and through his unique styles and giant strides, has redefined royalty.
The Governor commended Oba Obayomi for being good to his subjects, by uniting and developing Ijebu land, with various developmental projects witnessed since inception of his reign, describing this as an inspiration to the government and encouragement to the nation, therefore, wishing him long reign full of prosperity.
In his sermon, the Vicar of St. Paul Anglican Church, Ilese-Ijebu, Ven. Rotimi Olowomeye revealed that, it is only God that can enthrone and dethrone, urging traditional rulers to always seek God for direction at all times, in order to have a peaceful and long reign.
While appreciating people at the thanksgiving ceremony, Oba Obayomi appreciated Governor Amosun for his support, thanking him for the on-going dualisation of Ilese Ijebu roads and other developmental project across the State.
