Entrepreneurship Skills Development Imperative For Youth-Adenrele

The Ogun State Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Ms. Adenrele Adesina has restated the need for students in secondary schools to be trained on entrepreneurship skills to enable them be independent and employer of labour, thereby reducing unemployment rate in the country.

The Commissioner who stated this while teaching students of Premier Grammar School, Abeokuta, an “Exco in the Classroom” initiative of the State government, on entrepreneurship skills, said it was important for them to learn how to be self reliant.

“The era where we encourage students to go to secondary school, finish university and face office job is over, the situation in Nigeria today  has made it imperative for all of you  to look inward and utilize your creativity in solving problems in your environment”, Adenrele opined.

One of the students, Miss joy Odivie lauded the initiative, saying that the programme has exposed her to the possibility of being self-reliant and contribute meaningfully to poverty alleviation in the country.
