Emulate TASCE Alumni Initiatives, Ogun Speaker Tasks Old Students

The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Suraju Ishola Adekunbi has charged Alumni Association of institutions in Nigeria to emulate the Tai-Solarin College of Education (TASCE) Alumni’s concern, towards the development of their Alma -maters.

Adekunbi threw the challenge, while playing host to members of Alumni Association of TASCE, led by its National President, Julius Adeyemi, during a courtesy visit to the Assembly, at Oke- Mosan, Abeokuta.

The Speaker represented by his Deputy, Olakunle Oluomo, applauded the Association for its active involvement and commitment to educational advancement of the school, encouraging them not to rest on their oars.

He added that the development of the nation, particularly the education sector, requires the collaborative efforts of government at all levels, alumni associations and well-meaning citizens, to achieve an effective educational system.

Responding to the various issues raised by the Association, the Speaker assured that, as a partner, the Assembly would continue to support development of the institution, as a citadel of learning.

Earlier in his address, the Alumni President Mr Julius Adeyemi appreciated Senator Ibikunle Amosun led -administration for prioritizing the development of the education sector and solicited  support of the lawmakers in addressing the challenges confronting the college.

In another development, the Speaker played host to the State Boxing Association, with an assurance that the Assembly would assist in facilitating the required equipment and links for the development of boxing in the State and by extension, the nation.
