The Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Abayomi Sobande has said that efforts to reform the public service was necessitated by current reality for efficient service delivery.
Sobande made this known at a sensitization meeting with organized labour leaders on the newly inaugurated public service transformation agenda of the State government.
He urged the labour leaders to embrace the transformation agenda as demanded by time and changes, imploring them to bring forward their suggestions and submission, which would be of immense benefit to the reform agenda.
While saying that the transformation office would be permanent and referred to as Management Service Department, Mr. Sobande added that it would facilitate research and training for the benefit of the State workforce.
Speaking at the occasion, the Director General of the Public Service Transformation Office, Mr. Jola Oyeneye, admonished labour leaders to embrace the agenda, saying, his doors would be opened to contributions and suggestions, with focus on efficient service delivery, for improved public service.
Responding, Chairman, Joint Negotiating Committee, Comrade Biodun Olakanmi, appreciated government’s effort at putting in place the transformation agenda, requesting that labour leaders be included as members of the Steering Committee.
