Amosun Boosts Agric Production With Another 10 Farm Machines

amosunOgun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has commissioned another set of bulldozers just as he has pledged that his administration would continue to increase the fleet at regular intervals.

The commissioning of the new set of ten bulldozers brought the number of bulldozers purchased by the administration in recent times to 20.

While commissioning the machines at the Arcade Ground, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Amosun said the need to encourage agricultural practise for food security by citizens of the State by reducing the cost of land clearing necessitated the huge investment of government in the sector.

He therefore called on all farmers’ groups in the State to avail themselves of the availability of the equipment to cultivate more land and move away from subsistence to mechanised farming.

Governor Amosun said the Federal government has fulfilled its promise by making funds available to the State through its Commercial Agric Credit Scheme (CACS) making the purchase of the bulldozers possible.

He re-assured on his administration’s resolve to boost agriculture which would in turn lead to industrialisation.

Meanwhile, Governor Amosun assured participants at the recently held Youth Convention in the State of government’s support towards making them employers of labour through agriculture.

Amosun stated this when he inspected the Ministry of Agriculture Demonstration Farm in Oke-Mosan, where participants of the convention had cultivated their farms, adding that each of them would be given an hectare of cleared land to practice what they have learnt from the demonstration farm, saying ‘’it was time for the youth take  over farming and Agribusiness in Nigeria.
